Good question but not quite good enough.

By that I mean you haven't stated for what purposes your doing the cardio. For instance if your doing it to get fit and raise your cardiovascular activity I would say when your energy levels are at there highest. that can be different for every one. Personally evening time. But if your looking to burn some fat I would definitely say am earliest the better.

Cardio kept at a low rate performed before you have eaten or drank anything other than water is hard but very very rewarding.

I do mine after my workout. Main reason is I doubt I would manage to lift anything if I did it before. lol

    Cardio

    Post  Romp3L on Tue Mar 09, 2010 5:35 pm

Its not about when to do cardio.
(but let me add that I have read and heard and bla bla that the morning burns best and is the ideal time for cardio....ok,that being said lets continue) Razz

If its to burn calories, then do it after training. day or night. U burn more calories after a weight lifting session than doing it before.(because your heart rate is already in the fat burning *zone*)
If its just too improve fitness,do it before a training session, but only about 10-15 minutes of treadmill(3minute jog and then 2 walk,3 minute jog and then 2 minute walk:for the time ur on the dman thing).
The blood will be pumping and you will be all warmed up.
If u want to train, train hard. Dnt be lazy. Mad

U will notice that when u start doing this, your *good* mood for weights will be increased and u wont be so tired Sleep after 20 minute of heavy weight training.
Incorporate walking into your program twice a week. This will make u feel and think fitter Laughing .
it sounds crazy geek talk, but try it and let me know.

Its not that I'm lazy, I didn't reaslise 15mins would be enough. I could do that no trouble.

If I wanted to burn fat (not that I am because I'm trying to put on muscle at the moment and not fat) would just 15mins be enough or should I do say 30 or 40mins?

15 minutes wouldnt be enough for what? scratch U can lose bodyfat without doing any cardio.
No cardio what so ever. U look at the calories u are consuming and the amount of calories u are burning each day. If u arnt burning all the calories u are consuming, they will get used to repair muscle fibers, store to fat and get discarded by your body.

It depends on your diet. your diet is 70% of bodybuilding. My opinion is that what training you are doing, doesnt matter. As long as u did ur best and dont throw a rep away you would be doing well.
    8-12 reps and 4-5 sets.
    that is my training log.
    YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.
I will try put up a before and an after pic tomorow and u guys can decide if it works.
Bite off more than you can chew ,then chew like hell. Twisted Evil

ok, if you wanted to burn fat,i mean if you are fat(15%bf and more) do 30 minute cardio bounce and 30 minutes wieghts. cyclops First the wieghts and then the cardio.

I think what Tommy21 was refering to was :-

Romp3L wrote:but only about 10-15 minutes of treadmill(3minute jog and then 2 walk,3 minute jog and then 2 minute walk:for the time ur on the dman thing).

@ Tommy21 I think what Romp3L meant was 15 mins before you hit the iron is more than enough to get your system truly pumping with blood and as well as opening the airways enough to keep your lungs healthy. But I can also see Romp3L is advising not to limit your cardio to one level of intensity or one length of time.
