    Here are carbohydrates put in to understandable bite size portions.


    Carbohydrates communally know as carbs are the body's preferred choice for providing energy. But they are not the only source, so it is important you eat enough carbohydrates on a regular basis to prevent your body from utilizing another food sources you will need for other purposes, namely protein.

    Carbohydrates are normally put in two brackets being complex and simple.

    Complex carbohydrates are found naturally in foods, and in the right amount are the ideal way of proving your body with the energy it needs to function to its optimum. But unfortunately are refined in processed food.

    Complex carbs in natural form:

    .Bananas
    .Barley
    .Beans
    .Brown rice
    .Chickpeas
    .Lentils
    .Nuts
    .Oats
    .Parsnips
    .Potatoes
    .Root vegetables
    .Sweet corn
    .Wholegrain cereals
    .Wholemeal breads
    .Wholemeal cereals
    .Wholemeal flour
    .Wholemeal pasta
    .Yams.

    Complex carbohydrates as refined starches are found in:

    .Biscuits, pastries and cakes
    .Pizzas
    .Sugary processed breakfast cereals
    .White bread
    .White flour
    .White pasta
    .White rice.

    Simple carbohydrates are also known as sugars. They also exist in either a natural or refined form.

    Natural sugars are found in fruit and vegetables.

    Refined sugars are found in:

    .Biscuits, cakes and pastries
    .Chocolate
    .Honey and jams
    .Jellies
    .Brown and white cane sugar
    .Pizzas
    .Prepared foods and sauces
    .Soft drinks
    .Sweets and snack bars.

    Simple carbohydrates (sugar) will not only cause tooth decay, buy you will also cause you to store more fat on your body and because of there structure make up your more likely to store the fat around your abdominal area.
